Physical Education Program

What?

Movement Through Space and Time in a Coordinated Manner.

Physical Education plays a critical role in evolving the well-rounded student. Research supports the importance of movement in developing both the body and the mind. Physical fitness contributes directly to development of physical competence. It also helps students to make informed choices and understand the value of leading a physically active lifestyle. A healthy, physically active student is more likely to be academically motivated, alert, and successful.

RRA curriculum encompasses Locomotor Skills, Psychomotor & Non-locomotor Skills as opposed to playtime or sports. We focus on the Physical, Emotional & Social development of the student.

How?

Real Run Academy offers a non-traditional approach towards physical education. Our curriculum was conceived, designed and written by Patrick A. Ricci, an acknowledged leader in the field of physical education. Coach Ricci is a credentialed teacher in the State of California, has taught Physical Education in schools from Kindergarten through College. He has coached Baseball at the Collegiate, National and International levels.

Drawing from over forty (40) years of experience as a professional and amateur (competitive & recreational) coach, mentor and educator, Coach Ricci has written more than 468 integrated and inter-related lesson plans that focus solely on the Physical, Social & Emotional development of each student. The Real Run Academy Physical Education Program meets or exceeds WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) and/or California State Educational Standards. We take the student from Kindergarten through High School and focus on locomotor skills, safety movement and non-locomotor skills while building social, emotional and physical character.

*A certificate of completion will be awarded to all students who meet the course requirements.
